About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced RN to join their MaineGeneral Rehab & Long-Term Care team as a CNA Instructor. This per diem role is ideal for an RN passionate about teaching and mentoring, who wants to make a meaningful impact beyond direct patient care by shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. The instructor will collaborate with leadership to develop curriculum, select teaching aids, and apply learning principles to deliver content. They will monitor student progress, provide support, and ensure safe practices in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, while also supervising students and tracking their progress according to state requirements.

Requirements

Current State of Maine Registered Nurse License, or the ability to obtain one promptly
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a Long-Term Care facility
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
A passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed
The ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment for students

Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with academic and administrative leadership to assess the needs and objectives of students and the organization and to develop appropriate solutions.
Develops teaching outlines and selects or develops teaching aids/activities as appropriate.
Applies knowledge of learning principles to teach various formats of learning content.
Monitors students' progress throughout assigned courses and provides support and resources as appropriate.
Ensures safe practices in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
Supervises students, tracking attendance, completion of skills lists, and academic success per state requirements.
