Fall 2026 CNA In-Training - The Alice Center
About The Position
This is a Fall 2026 CNA In-Training position at The Alice Center, located at 45 6th Street, Malone, New York. Participants will learn the skills necessary to become a CNA and prepare for their certification test. Classes and work require in-person attendance. Alice Hyde Medical Center will host the course, and participants are expected to remain employed as a CNA at Alice Hyde Medical Center for one year after certification. Participants are hired as employees and are paid the minimum hourly wage for class and clinical time. Upon successful completion and certification, they agree to apply for an open position with The Alice Center. Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) are healthcare professionals who provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. They assist patients with daily living activities, monitor their condition, and play a crucial role in patient comfort and well-being in various healthcare settings.
Requirements
- Must have obtained (or be actively working to obtain) their High School diploma or equivalent.
- Agreement to remain employed as a CNA at Alice Hyde Medical Center for one year after certification.
- Agreement to apply for an open position with The Alice Center upon successful completion and certification.
Responsibilities
- Assisting residents with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, while prioritizing privacy, dignity, and preferences.
- Providing mobility support through proper techniques and equipment for transfers, aiming to prevent falls or injuries.
- Monitoring vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate) and reporting significant changes to nursing staff.
- Observing residents' physical and emotional conditions and promptly notifying the nursing team of any changes in behavior, mobility, or health status.
- Assisting licensed nurses with medication administration.
- Ensuring accurate documentation.
- Providing nutrition support.
- Maintaining infection control protocols.
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Acting as an advocate for residents' rights and addressing their preferences and concerns.
- Offering emotional support and fostering a compassionate environment.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and achieve residents' goals.
Benefits
- Paid class time and clinical time at minimum hourly wage.
- Base hourly rate between $23.19 - $29.75.
- Shift differentials for evening ($5.50) and night ($7.00) shifts.
