About The Position

CNA II Weekend Option at Scotland Memorial Hospital - Nursing: Progressive Care. This is a full-time position with various shifts. The role involves performing routine personal care and assisting patients with activities of daily living, including ambulation, turning, positioning, and transfers. The CNA II will also assist patients with nutrition and elimination needs, perform special procedures as assigned, and document care provided. Adherence to infection control measures, age-specific competency, and patient safety guidelines is crucial. The position also includes performing duties outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide II for Scotland Health, such as oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, wound care, urinary catheterization, and phlebotomy.

Requirements

  • 1 Year Cna Experience
  • Current North Carolina Nurse Aide II listing on the NCBON
  • Aegis
  • Demonstrates Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal.
  • Diplomacy, Tact, And A Positive Approach To Problem Solving Are Required To Be Successful.
  • Organizational Skills Are A Must.
  • Fosters A Teamwork Environment.
  • Must Be Able To Communicate With Patients, Customers, Other Departments, And Staff In An Articulate Manner.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine personal care and assists with activities of daily living for patients.
  • Assists patients with body mechanics such as: ambulation, turning, positioning, transfer to wheelchairs/stretchers, and assists with range of motion.
  • Assist patients with nutrition and elimination needs.
  • Performs special procedures as assigned and notifies the nurse of any abnormal findings.
  • Documents nursing assistant care provided to patients according to scope and nursing policy and procedure.
  • Observes infection control measures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development through the life span and ability to meet the needs of patients in various age categories.
  • Responsible for self growth and education to maintain competence.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, orderly working area.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or required.
  • Follows patient safety guidelines (for example, patient identifiers, labeling specimens at the bedside, etc.).
  • Performs duties as outlined in the scope of Nurse Aide II for Scotland Health (per North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide II tasks list), including Oxygen Therapy, Room Set-up, Monitoring Flow-Rate, Tracheostomy Care, Fluid Assistive Activities, Monitoring flow-rate, Discontinuing peripheral intravenous infusions, Observe IV dressing for integrity, Nutrition Activities, Oral/Nasogastric infusions, Gastrostomy, PEG, and JT feedings, Clamping tubes, Removing oral/nasogastric feeding tubes, Suctioning (Oropharyngeal, Nasopharyngeal), Wound Care (Surgical outer dressing change, Wound irrigation), Urinary Catheters (Catheterizations), Elimination Procedures (Ostomy Care, Irrigation), Phlebotomy (Routine phlebotomy).
