The CNA - ICU position is a full-time role within the Critical Care: ICU department at AMC Oshkosh. This role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. The CNA will also be responsible for measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. Additionally, the role includes collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, completing errands, maintaining stock, cleaning equipment, and assisting with patient positioning and nutritional needs. The CNA will also perform tasks related to maintaining skin integrity and may be required to remove IVs, provide post-mortem care, and perform bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
