About The Position

Join our specially trained team at Sanford Hospice, where we focus on supporting patients and their loved ones with compassion and understanding. This role involves performing tasks as delegated and indicated on the care plan for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Nursing Assistant (NA) will understand the basic elements of body functioning, including the physical and emotional changes associated with the death and dying process. The position requires delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the patient per care plan, assisting patients with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, and eating. The role demands good interpersonal skills, courtesy, and compassion, along with knowledge of medical terminology and organizational policies and procedures. The ability to perform detailed work correctly, function under stress, and work with the growth and development needs of all client and patient populations is essential.

Requirements

  • Completion of a 75-hour nurse assistant course is required.
  • Registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and registered in the applicable state's Department of Health.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
