About The Position
The purpose of this position is to provide direct care to patients, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with policies and procedures. This role requires a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly, the ability to carry out directions, read and write, and maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job. The CNA will work indoors in the Agency office and patient homes, and will travel to and from patient homes. The position involves providing personal care, bath and hands-on care, completing visit records, reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, performing essential household services, assisting with ambulation and exercises, and assisting with self-administered medications. The role also requires attending in-service and continuing education programs, and patient care conferences.
Requirements
- Current CNA License in WA
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary:
- Ability to participate in physical activity.
- Ability to work for extended period of time while standing & involving physical activity.
- Heavy lifting.
- Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.

Responsibilities
- Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures.
- Performs personal care, bath and hands-on care as assigned.
- Completes appropriate visit records in a timely manner as per Agency policy.
- Reports changes in the patient’s condition and needs to the RN.
- Performs household services essential to health care in the home as assigned.
- Ambulates and exercises the patient as assigned.
- Assists with medications that are ordinarily self-administered as assigned.
- Attends in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled and necessary.
- Attends patient care conferences as scheduled.
