This position involves assisting patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, and toileting. The role also includes maintaining a hygienic environment by making beds, removing trash, and ensuring rooms are clean. Responsibilities extend to timely meal service, assisting residents with meals if needed, taking vital signs, and reporting any changes in condition to the nurse. The CNA is expected to adhere to infection prevention and control measures, document care in the CNA ECS flow-sheet accurately, and conduct regular rounds to ensure safety precautions and equipment are in place and functional. A key aspect of the role is preventing skin problems and breakdown through timely incontinent care and frequent repositioning of residents requiring assistance.
