About The Position

The float pool staff will work across all the program areas with the SD Human Services Center: Adult Acute, Adolescents, Psych Rehab, Geriatrics and the Intensive Treatment Unit. Float pool employees will work in the areas of highest need and will be assigned to an area daily. These positions perform personal care services by completing patient care assignments, providing an atmosphere conducive to treatment and supporting patients with mental health and chemical dependency issues in an effort to meet the patients' needs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and chemical dependency
  • Knowledge of patient safety procedures
  • Knowledge of patient rights and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of CPR and first aid
  • Knowledge of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Techniques
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Must apply online
  • Must undergo a background investigation
  • Must undergo an abuse and neglect screening
  • Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening
