About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring CNA/CHHA's at The Reserve at East Longmeadow. This role involves providing for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, while upholding their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. Requirements

  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • Must have CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Actively participate in growing community occupancy by interacting positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifying the nurse of any changes.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences, providing assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement activities.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status, reporting and documenting any changes immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs as required by State Regulation.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement activities as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, as well as resident refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
