The CNA Certified Nursing Assistant will assist the RN with the daily care of patients on the Medical Surgical Orthopedic Unit. This role involves direct patient care, including bathing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs, as well as documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The CNA will also participate in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, and ensure patient safety by keeping call lights within reach and responding promptly. Additionally, the position requires specimen collection, equipment maintenance, and assisting with patient positioning and nutritional needs. The CNA will also perform tasks related to skin integrity and may assist with IV removal, post mortem care, and bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The role requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development principles.
