The CNA-Certified Nursing Assistant - Medical Surgical Ortho role is a full-time position with a 36-hour work week, involving holiday and weekend rotations. The position is benefits-eligible and operates on a schedule of 1100-2300. The pay range is $20.80 - $31.20. This role requires assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, accurately documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision. The CNA will ensure patient call lights are accessible and answered promptly, collect specimens, and perform point-of-care testing. Additionally, the role involves completing errands, maintaining nursing area stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties that require lifting and pushing/pulling. Nutritional support and skin integrity maintenance are also key aspects of the role. Depending on unit requirements and RN direction, tasks may include IV removal, post-mortem care, and bladder scans. The position requires adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development principles and assessing patient needs based on age-specific requirements.
