The CNA Certified Nursing Assistant - Medical Surgical Cardiac Unit will assist the RN with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. This role involves measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. The CNA will also collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing, complete errands, maintain stock, and clean equipment and work areas. Additionally, the position requires performing patient positioning and transporting duties, assisting with nutritional needs, maintaining skin integrity, and potentially performing tasks such as removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The role requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
