About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female In-Home Caregiver to provide essential support to a client in his own home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving, particularly in outpatient settings, geriatrics, and ADL care. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our client, allowing him to maintain his independence while receiving the care they needs. EmpathyHands Home Care, LLC is looking for reliable, compassionate, and qualified Female caregivers to serve our clients in the SANTA Maria Area. We are looking for experienced Caregivers, CNAs, or Senior Companions for clients in SANTA Maria. This is our agency's goal. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being at home. This position requires a commitment to delivering personalized care while respecting the dignity and privacy of those you serve.

Requirements

  • Experience in patient care or senior care is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of home community care practices and working with individuals with ALS disabilities is a plus.
  • Ability to perform light cleaning duties as part of maintaining a safe environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Compassionate nature combined with patience and understanding.
  • Ability to lift clients safely when needed, adhering to proper lifting techniques.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation that meets nutritional needs.
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, especially in outpatient, geriatrics, or in-home care settings.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to teach clients about their care plans effectively.
  • Must be patient, empathetic, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
  • In-Home caregiver: 3 years (Required)
  • Dementia care: 3 years (Required)
  • Day Shift (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, range of motion exercises, and toileting.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Support clients with mobility assistance, including lifting and transfers from wheelchair to bed.
  • Medications reminder and monitor health conditions.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
  • Prevent falls and follow safety protocols.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Monitor and document changes in clients' health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
  • Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental stimulation and physical health.
  • Ensure a safe living environment by maintaining cleanliness and organization within the home.
  • Collaborate with family members and healthcare providers to develop personalized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while providing care.
