This is a full-time position for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Cardiac Neuro unit, specifically on the 2nd Floor Cardiac Neuro unit. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility. The CNA will also be responsible for monitoring vital signs, documenting patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and performing purposeful rounding. Other duties include assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring patient safety by keeping call lights within reach, collecting specimens, and running errands within the nursing area. The position requires maintaining stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transportation duties that involve lifting and pushing/pulling. The CNA will also assist with nutritional needs, skin integrity, and the provision of special patient supplies. Depending on unit requirements, tasks may include removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile/aseptic procedures, is crucial. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
