Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience as a CNA.
  • Hold and maintain a current Oklahoma Long Term Care Aide certification.
  • Upon hire, will obtain/maintain current certifications in: First Aid, CPR, and Tulsa County Food Handlers.
  • A genuine desire to work with older adults or developmentally disabled young adults.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills with older adults, caregivers and coworkers.
  • Present a caring, friendly attitude with an outgoing personality.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., push 200 lbs., and walk or stand 90% of the time, while working.
  • Good hearing and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist participants with activities of daily living, including feeding, transfers, mobility, bathing, toileting, hand hygiene, and other personal care needs.
  • Create meaningful connections by encouraging participation in therapeutic, recreational, and social activities.
  • Lead and support both structured and spontaneous activities that promote independence, engagement, and quality of life.
  • Observe participants and accurately document attendance, activity participation, nutritional intake (as applicable), health monitoring, and incidents.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for participants, staff, and visitors.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics and safety practices while assisting participants.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional participant care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Follow LIFE PACE policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality care.
