Certerra has an immediate opening for a full-time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Inspector in Salt Lake City, UT. This role is ideal for someone interested in a fast-paced consultant environment, who is open to some travel, and capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Educational or professional background in construction inspection services
  • Experience evaluating soils, concrete, and asphalt, as they relate to site construction
  • Report writing and computer skills
  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in airfield pavement construction
  • Landfill construction quality control/assurance
  • ACI Certifications

Responsibilities

  • Apply testing and inspection capabilities to a variety of projects
  • Evaluate soils, concrete, and asphalt, as they relate to site construction
  • Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials
  • Maintain required certifications
  • Coordinate with clients and Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional staff
  • Travel to client facilities as needed
  • Perform report writing and utilize computer skills
  • Provide clear documentation of findings and results
  • Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager
  • Communicate information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM
  • Assist higher level technicians on complex tasks
  • Maintain assigned equipment and related calibration
  • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects
