About The Position

The CAD Designer – Structures at GE Vernova is an individual contributor responsible for taking engineering input to create quality, on-time, world-class drawings. This role involves creating and maintaining mechanical models and drawings for large Power Generation Equipment, as well as creating and maintaining bills of materials. The designer will follow direction from engineers and Senior Designers to complete designs by retrieving input information, executing design details per standard GE Vernova practices, and issuing drawings, models, and Bills of Materials. The position also requires defining and maintaining scheduled dates for design activities, communicating issues to management, and understanding GD&T principles and GE Vernova drawing standards to create high-quality detailed drawings.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree or Certification and a minimum of 1 year of CAD design/drafting or component design experience.
  • OR 5 years of CAD design/drafting or component design experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to create / maintain mechanical models and drawings for large Power Generation Equipment.
  • Ability to create / maintain bill of materials.
  • Following direction from engineers and Senior Designers to complete designs: Retrieving design input information, Executing design details per standard GE Vernova practices and documentation procedures, Issuing drawings, models and Bill of Materials per documented GE Vernova processes.
  • Help define/maintain and meet scheduled dates for design related activities, and provide early communication to alert management of issues.
  • Understand GD&T principles and GE Venova drawing standards and capable to create high quality detailed drawings with SIM TO products/features.
  • Create detailed markups, create new drawings and have a full understanding of detailing processes/standards.
  • Understanding of part attributes and their functionality.
  • Proficient in PLM and able to mentor others in use of PLM.
