Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in operating and programming CMMs.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment, preferably in the automotive or related industry.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to use and manage data within a digital environment.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of quality management principles.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and report findings.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in metrology or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in CMM operation/programming or a related quality control certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and program CMM equipment to inspect parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to perform precise measurements.
  • Stay updated on advancements in CMM technology and measurement techniques.
  • Perform detailed inspections of parts and components, ensuring they meet required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Record and report inspection results, identifying and documenting any deviations or defects.
  • Analyze measurement data to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance requirements.
  • Work closely with the quality, engineering, and production teams to address any issues and improve processes.
  • Regularly calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
