About The Position

As our Quality Technician, you’ll be our gatekeeper focused on quality assurance (QA) while operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). You’ll make sure all incoming production parts that go into Seakeepers meet the quality standards we have set for ourselves. You’ll ensure all products meet the defined requirements by: Operating a CMM and reviewing drawing specifications for incoming production parts, first articles, and prototypes Analyzing problems, initiating corrective actions, and reporting results effectively Verifying machined parts meet drawing specifications using inspection equipment including an automated & manual CMM Operating a variety of inspection equipment, hydraulic test devices and specialty inspection tools ex. Profilometer, Creaform 3D scanner etc. Identifying and documenting non-conforming product in laboratory setting Updating production documentation for inspection parts status Communicating inspection results internally to quality leadership and the quality department and notifying vendors of non-conformances

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1-year CMM operation experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment and the ability to operate and troubleshoot existing CMM programs
  • Experience working with inspection equipment and tools
  • Ability to perform precision manual measurements using hand tools etc
  • Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Intermediate computer skills – proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Ability to report inspection results and effectively communicate results to the Quality department
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-centric attitude at all times
  • Strong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Superior time management, multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to do the following, with or without reasonable accommodation: Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and products weighing up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds occasionally
  • Stand or walk for extended periods (8–12-hour shifts) on concrete or other hard surfaces
  • Perform frequent repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, reaching, and gripping
  • Use hands and fingers to handle small parts, operate tools or controls, and assemble products with precision
  • Visually inspect products for defects, labels, or measurements
  • Distinguish sounds such as machinery alarms, beeps, or spoken instructions in a noisy environment
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear

  • Post-secondary education or related training and certifications
  • CMM programming experience
