About The Position

This role is responsible for programming and operating portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), specifically the Keyence XM-5000 & WM-3500. The individual will develop CMM programs using PCDMIS, utilize Datapage for statistical analysis, and provide dimensional layouts for components and assemblies. Responsibilities also include preparing AIAG layout reports and PPAP packages, supporting CMM needs during press runs and tryouts, performing first piece/last piece quality verification, and assisting with the dimensioning and validation of check fixtures. The role requires tracking and calibrating measuring equipment, reviewing part prints and GD&T for dimensional analysis, and cooperating with ISO internal auditors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 3 years minimum experience in programming/operating CMM.
  • Must be proficient in basic shop math and geometry
  • Must be able to think beyond the measuring equipment and proactively exhaust every measuring technique in order to validate dimensional results.
  • Must be able to read and interpret prints/GD&T and provide project team with feedback.
  • Proficiency in PCDMIS software.
  • Proficiency in Datapage software.
  • Ability to read prints and interpret GD&T required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed or partial work toward Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Training in ISO standards is recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate portable CMM (Keyence XM-5000 & WM-3500)
  • Balloon drawings to numerically correlate to dimensional results on CMM reports.
  • Develop CMM programs using PCDMIS.
  • Utilize Datapage for Statistical analysis.
  • Provide dimensional layouts for components and welded assemblies.
  • Prepare AIAG layout reports for internal or external customers.
  • Prepare PPAP packages including dimensional layouts and capability studies for customers.
  • Provide CMM support for press runs and tryout when no quality checking fixture is available.
  • Perform the first piece/last piece quality verification.
  • Assist with dimensions of check fixtures from start of build to customer buyoff.
  • Provide technical support to fixture sources when necessary.
  • Review fixtures and gauging incoming from fixture/gaging sources and validate construction to design and intended usage.
  • Assist in gauging R&R.
  • Track all measuring equipment used in facility and calibrate measuring equipment.
  • Review part print and GD&T to provide key dimensional analysis.
  • Cooperate with the ISO internal auditor on closing out CARs.
