About The Position

Tube Specialties, Inc. (TSI) is seeking a CMM Programmer/Operator to perform dimensional inspections on aerospace-grade components using Coordinate Measuring Machines and PC-DMIS software. This is a hands-on role focused on precision measurement, where you will program CMM routines, inspect parts against tight tolerances, and verify conformance on various components. TSI is an AS9100 certified company that fabricates tube assemblies for aircraft and aerospace industries, with parts used in space, commercial, and military applications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–3 years of experience in Hexagon CMM operation, metrology, or quality inspection (aerospace/manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Hexagon CMM equipment and PC-DMIS/Quindos software, or willingness to learn quickly if not already experienced
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and recordkeeping habits
  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, ratios, tolerances) and ability to interpret statistical data
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across teams
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual)

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (Hexagon CMM) using PC-DMIS/Quindos software
  • Inspect tubes, tooling, fixtures, gears, and machined components for dimensional accuracy
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Develop, edit, and maintain CMM inspection programs for new and existing parts
  • Verify part conformance against engineering specifications and tight tolerances
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate, traceable quality records
  • Support internal and customer audits and AS9100 compliance activities
  • Investigate nonconformances and help drive corrective actions
  • Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to engineering and production teams
