About The Position

The CMM Operator is responsible for operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using software programs to measure dimensions on castings and fixtures. This role ensures that measurement printouts align with Tech Card information and meet PCC and customer specifications, particularly for non-conforming parts. The operator will position castings, load programs, monitor CMM operations, and respond to system instructions and errors. Additionally, the role involves evaluating inspection printouts, determining rework needs, marking parts for rework, supplying reports, generating layout inspection reports, testing and troubleshooting inspection programs, generating new and upgrading older tech cards, and producing specialized computer outputs like airfoil contour plots. Safety is a key component, requiring adherence to plant rules, safe equipment operation, and reporting of safety issues. The operator must also complete logs and records, and meet production and quality standards.
