The Precision Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring product and process compliance with customer, company, and regulatory standards. This position is responsible for CMM operation and mechanical quality inspection, developing and maintaining accurate quality documentation, and supporting manufacturing operations to ensure the delivery of conforming products.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T standards.
  • Experience with inspection equipment such as - Mics, Calipers, Opticals, and Micro heights.
  • Extensive knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replication.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T application in manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Technical writing and documentation accuracy.
  • Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • 3–5 years of experience in CMM operation, mechanical inspection, manufacturing, or GD&T application required.
  • Aerospace experience OR AS9100.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications preferred.
  • GD&T certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Fundamental mechanical and mathematical inspection knowledge.
  • Operation of CMM and interpretation of CMM results.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, applying GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent) to inspection and production planning.
  • Familiar with the use of all inspection hand gauging including but not limited to, micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, calipers, height gauges, etc.
  • Ensure proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions.
  • Robust knowledge of GD&T, blueprint, and spec interpretation.
  • Work and adhere to quality management systems and requirements (i.e., training, policies, procedures, document control).
  • Assists Engineering and Manufacturing in the investigation of non-conformities.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures and complying with all applicable regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
