Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating and programming CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with CMM software, such as PC-DMIS or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.
  • Familiarity with various measurement tools and equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with very tight dimensional tolerances and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as needed.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Required: Compliant with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. Person status (ITAR defines “U.S. Person” as a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform precise measurements of aerospace components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with dimensional requirements.
  • Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections of parts and assemblies.
  • Document and report inspection results, including non-conformities and deviations.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection activities and results in quality management systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve dimensional discrepancies.
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection processes and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements during inspection activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action plans for quality issues.
