About The Position

The CMF Designer accomplishes Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) development across Softgoods and Hardgoods categories, translating creative direction, trend insights, and consumer input into compelling, production-ready solutions. This role partners cross-functionally with CMF Build leadership, CMF Development, Product Development, Industrial Design, and Product Management to deliver high-quality CMF concepts from ideation through development handoff, ensuring consistency with Stanley 1913’s brand standards and product strategy. This is a hybrid role based in our Seattle, WA offices (relocation not provided).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional CMF Build, Graphic, Print, or Textile Build related experience.
  • Hard-goods or soft-goods experience required, must have on-product build experience.
  • Experience working on retail, wholesale, and/or brand partnerships.
  • Experience with artwork application on product.
  • Highly motivated and collaborative – taking ownership of projects and at the same time, being objective and adaptable to feedback.
  • Strong working knowledge of materials, finishes, decoration methods, and on-product artwork application.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate competing priorities working on multiple projects, timelines, and collaborators simultaneously.
  • Strong creative and aesthetic judgment grounded in brand-led product build.
  • Strategic, consumer-focused building thinking.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both visual and verbal.
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Comfortable working through iterative, test-and-learn build processes.
  • Flexible and adaptable due to the evolving needs of a growing brand.
  • Must have consumer goods development experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to travel if required.
  • Digital portfolio showcasing current relevant work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with WGSN, Pantone Connect, and digital color platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience with KeyShot and PLM Systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and complete CMF concepts (color, material, finish, artwork) across Softgoods and Hardgoods product categories.
  • Complete trend, color, and print palettes into relevant builds that are brand-aligned product solutions.
  • Deliver accurate build assets including color callouts, artwork, and material specifications.
  • Partner with CMF Development, Production Art, Product Development, Product Management, and Industrial Design to integrate CMF into product workflows you help build.
  • Support external partnerships through clear communication of CMF development intent.
  • Build presentation materials, 2D and 3D renderings to communicate CMF concepts and design readiness.
  • Support continued improvement and socialization of go-to-market calendars and CMF deliverables.
  • Own assigned deliverables within timelines and product calendars.
  • Maintain organization and accuracy across build files and iterations.
  • Follow established CMF workflows, tools, and processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on sample reviews to ensure CMF build intent is maintained through development with timely feedback and effective results.
  • Actively support PLM improvements and CMF-related operational initiatives.
  • Positively represent the brand to external partners including key accounts, partners/affiliates, brands, etc.
  • Foster inclusive engagement and development of all CMF Studio community.
