About The Position

Responsible for planning the work activities for internal crew resources for planned maintenance work activities that support the mechanical, electrical and controls components for assets. These assets are in Electric Production Generating Facilities, the Chiller Generating Facility, Electric and Water Transmission and Distribution Systems and Facility Locations. Planning activities include, but are not limited to, identification of costs, material, equipment, and resources needed for each task, duration of work tasks, preparation of system and asset clearance requests and work task coordination with internal resources, other internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, governmental agencies, and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field; or Journey status with combination 5 + years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three years of previous experience in planning, maintenance, or utilities.
  • Proven history of taking initiative.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Strong awareness and emphasis on work safety.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Strong written, verbal and in person communication skills.
  • Displays strong emotional intelligence.
  • Is at ease and thrives in working with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to recognize the need, and willingness to work extra hours when needed, and prioritize workload.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Intermediate to advance level of understanding in either electric power infrastructure projects within transmission or distribution design, water distribution systems, or water or Electric production facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs job site walk down and review.
  • Applies industry standards and techniques in building out work and project schedules and supporting budget requirements.
  • Build out various documents and reports which require an Intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
  • Ability to read and comprehend intermediate level sketches, prints, drawings and/or schematics.
  • Can provide planning and coordination back up support for 2 or more resource areas or craft groups and the assets and systems they support.
  • Operates independently in performing planning and scheduling functions.
  • Edits or marks up maintenance work specifications as needed.
  • Performs research and investigations regarding work efforts, asset maintenance and pertinent job sites.
  • Plans, organizes, monitors, and coordinates all maintenance work tasks for mid-size or medium complexity projects working up to high level complexity projects.
  • Ability to foster and develop collaborative partnerships across various stakeholder groups resulting in successful outcomes.
  • Decision Making & Analysis using applicable technologies i.e., MS Project, Excel, Access, SAP, etc.
  • Ability to create and reach successful submission for mid-level complexity clearances.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with BWL procedures and guidelines.
  • Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Attends training for safety awareness or skills improvement as required by supervisor, BWL, or government agency such as MIOSHA.
  • Performs other duties as necessitated by job responsibilities, including on call / emergent work.
  • Participation in the continuous improvement of the Asset Management System and Work Management processes.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
