Under the direction of a registered nurse, the CMA is responsible for all identified nursing care behaviors within his/her span of control during his/her tour of duty and is accountable to the Charge Nurse and/or designated individual. The CMA participates in the care of a defined patient population. The CMA assists with data collection, formulation of plans for patient care, and participates with evaluation of outcomes of nursing actions. The LPN is responsible for quality patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical practice. Duties to include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections and assisting with minor procedures.
