About The Position

Windsor Manor Senior Living in Grinnell is seeking a Full-Time CMA / Medication Aide / Caregiver to join their Assisted Living community. This role offers paid training for the right candidate, with opportunities for growth into a CMA/Medication Aide position. The environment is described as calmer and more personal than hospitals, focusing on compassion, teamwork, and resident-centered care. The Medication Assistant is responsible for providing resident care services, including assisting with the self-administration of medication, under the supervision of the Resident Care Director, and contributing to a positive living environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must possess current Medication Training certification.
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into a CMA / Medication Aide role.
  • Dependable and compassionate personality.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work evenings, overnights, and weekends as scheduled.
  • May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on state requirements; if licensed or certified, must be in good standing with the state licensing or certifying agency.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year experience with senior adults highly preferred.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid preferred or as required by the State.
  • Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems preferred.
  • Caregiver or CNA experience.
  • No Medication Aide certification yet is acceptable if the candidate is the right fit and willing to be trained.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resident care services, including assistance with self-administration of medication, according to scheduled duties.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive physical and social environment for residents.
  • Approach all encounters with residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, positioning, transfer, mobility, and incontinence care.
  • Work closely with and maintain daily communications with Resident Services associates to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in and lead resident activities as needed.
  • Meet customer service standards in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner with resident satisfaction as a priority.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
