About The Position

The CMA/LPN or RN provides professional clinical care in a family practice or specialty office environment. The role requires strong clinical and critical-thinking skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting, and a positive, collaborative approach. The position is per diem at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique, Michigan, with a varied shift and no travel required.

Requirements

Current Michigan state LPN or RN license, or Medical Assistant Certification.
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience as a CMA, LPN, or RN in a healthcare setting.
Ability to deal with patients tactfully and courteously.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Providers, other employees, and patients.
Knowledge of current medical practices and procedures.
Ability to provide quality care and assist the Provider with procedures and examinations in an office setting.
Accuracy and dedication to providing high-quality patient care.

Experience in a rural or outpatient clinic environment.

Responsibilities

Take patients’ vital signs and chief complaints and prepare them for the Provider examination.
Assist the Provider in delivering quality care and making effective use of their time.
Prepare patients, ensure exam rooms are ready, and make clinical information available for Provider review.
Complete data entry for orders.
Provide patient education and teaching at the Provider’s request.
Assist the Provider with patient phone calls and prescription refills.
Provide patient care, including injections, treatments, and diagnostic testing such as pulse oximetry and mini mental exams, and document care accordingly.
Restock exam rooms and prepare lists for ordering clinical supplies.
Document accurately in the patient EMR and report information to other agencies, such as the health department.
Address patient inquiries with tact and courtesy.
Demonstrate appropriateness in meeting age-specific objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
