About The Position

The Iowa Clinic is a locally owned and physician-led healthcare provider in Central Iowa, committed to delivering exceptional care, showing compassion, and collaborating to exceed patient expectations. This role is for a CMA/LPN/RN in the Family Medicine Department, specifically supporting the Johnston Clinic. The position involves providing professional nursing services for patients, conducting comprehensive assessments of patient care needs, rooming patients and taking vitals, assisting providers with patient triage and venipunctures, identifying nursing diagnoses, and formulating initial plans of care. The role also emphasizes spending time with patients, participating in team activities, engaging in volunteer opportunities, and returning patient calls to ensure they feel valued. This is an internal float position, requiring staff to assist and support all providers and daily operations in the clinic as needed.

  • Iowa RN license, LPN License, or CMA (AAMA) required
  • Phlebotomy experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician(s) following established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs
  • Room patients and take vitals
  • Assists provider(s) with patient triage, patient venipunctures, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data
  • Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them
  • Participate in a department potluck or team building activity over lunch
  • Visit The Iowa Clinic intranet to see what volunteer opportunities are available to you this month and read what is happening around the clinic
  • Return patient calls and ensure all patients feel valued and cared for
  • Assist and support all providers and daily operations in clinic as needed
