About The Position

The Iowa Clinic is seeking a CMA/LPN/RN for their Family Medicine department in West Des Moines. The clinic is locally owned and physician-led, with all decisions made in Central Iowa. Employees are encouraged to make a difference through exceptional care, compassion, and collaboration. This position will be supporting Dr. Giller, who is joining The Iowa Clinic at the end of July 2026. A typical day involves arriving in the morning, providing professional nursing services, conducting patient assessments, rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting providers with triage, formulating care plans, spending time listening to patients, participating in team activities, utilizing the intranet for volunteer opportunities, returning patient calls, and leaving in the evening, adhering to standard clinic hours with no night shifts.

Requirements

The ability to prepare and maintain records
Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to assist providers in professional manner
Iowa RN license, CMA or LPN License required

Responsibilities

Provides professional nursing services for patients of assigned physicians and APP, following established nursing practice standards and medical office hospital procedures.
Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs
Room patients and take vitals
Assists provider(s) with patient triage, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data
Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them
Participate in a department potluck or team building activity over lunch
Visit The Iowa Clinic intranet to see what volunteer opportunities are available to you this month and read what is happening around the clinic
Return patient calls and ensure all patients feel valued and cared for
