About The Position

The Clubhouse Generalist position is responsible for providing a wide array of culturally sensitive, recovery oriented, trauma sensitive, direct psychosocial rehabilitation services to Clubhouse Members. Services provided include but are not limited to: assessment, counseling, and supportive contacts as members work alongside the Clubhouse Generalist during the Work Ordered day. The Clubhouse Generalist works in partnership with members to develop and implement individual recovery goals that acknowledge the member’s needs, values, world views, traditions, definition of family, and helping resources. They model working side-by-side with members as respected colleagues to enhance the member’s self-esteem, confidence, hope, skills, opportunity, and sense of community. All staff share employment, housing, evening and weekend hours and department responsibilities. Clubhouse Generalists are expected to engage with several members at a time to complete daily department tasks. This position is expected to transition into an array provider/secondary service facilitator role as soon as certified by Dane County Comprehensive Community Services (CCS). The Clubhouse Generalist reports directly to the assigned supervisor with overall program supervision provided by the Clubhouse Director. The minimum annual service hours expectation is 1352.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree behavioral health field
  • Six months experience working in a setting with individuals experiencing mental health or substance use disorder.
  • Knowledge of mental health, whether through formal training and education, or life experiences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and different worldviews, recognizing personal limitations, and working on an ongoing basis to gain cultural self-awareness, knowledge, and skill.
  • Demonstrated ability and skill to work with members in a validating, empowering, and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, a favorable driving record, adequate insurance (per WI law) and access to a vehicle and willingness to use it for work (i.e., transporting consumers).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related behavioral health field.
  • Eligible for CCS Medicaid billing.
  • Fluent in American Sign Language, Bi-lingual, and/or Bi-cultural (Spanish/Hmong)

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support services in a culturally sensitive/humble manner to help each member to achieve goals.
  • Responsibilities include individual/annual goal planning that promotes self-esteem, hope, and skill-building.
  • Complete accurate clinical records and other information in a timely manner.
  • Engages and works side-by-side with Clubhouse colleagues completing the day-to-day operations of department work, transitional employment, supported employment, education, recreation and rotating holiday support.
  • Attend house meetings, in-services, and other program activities as requested.
  • Participates in Journey committees, trainings, and activities as directed and/or approved.
