About The Position

The Clubhouse Assistant Supervisor is a Part-Time Position. We offer competitive compensation, PTO and an employee discount for part-time employees. The Clubhouse Assistant Site Supervisor is responsible for helping the Supervisor organize, lead, and plan the activities at The Clubhouse afterschool program, School’s Out Days, and Holiday Break Camps. A high priority is placed on communication, organization, and risk management with this position. The position includes monitoring, interacting, and developing a safe and fun environment for kids to enjoy their time out and away from school. They will provide quality customer service to the families and park patrons on site.

Requirements

  • Statement acknowledging mandated reporter of child abuse status
  • Must provide official transcripts of documentation of work experience in child care
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with children and desire to work with and promote life-long learning in young children
  • Demonstrate skills and competence necessary to contribute to participant’s physical, personal, and emotional safety
  • Knowledgeable in customer relations and have an appreciation for the public’s needs and best interest
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and administrative skills
  • Team oriented
  • Flexibility to assist with the physical set up and take down of recreation programs
  • Ability to multi-task, supervising several small groups simultaneously
  • Exhibit good problem solving skills and judgment
  • Must comply with Park District regulations and procedures
  • Certification in advanced Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 1 month of employment and keep certification current. The District provides this training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain staff, child, and substitute paperwork on site, attendance records, routine safety checks, and general forms needed to operate the facility and program effectively under DCFS and Park District guidelines.
  • Assist with the purchasing of program supplies, snack, budget maintenance, and receipt filing using a declining balance card system.
  • Participate in all monthly meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all general departmental specific safety rules; obey and enforce the regulations and procedures established by the Park District and program description.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and building evacuation if necessary.
  • Maintain and document daily communication and cooperation with parents.
  • Mentor and role model professional conduct for all team members, participants and patrons.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of age appropriate activities promoting the social/emotional safety and development of all participants’ ages 5-12 years old; post and turn in schedule as requested.
  • Resolve conflicts and problems that may arise between children through redirection and logical consequences.
  • Promote child growth and development through hands on activities, modeling, and constant adult-child interaction.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, school administration, and supervisor by email, phone, and in person.
  • Maintain, inventory, and store program equipment and supplies adequately.
  • Assist with the development of a monthly communication tool for parents, supervisor, and new participants.
  • Maintain all program paperwork, files, and budget.
  • Secure general materials and program supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe program environment.
