About The Position

Sacred Heart University is seeking a Head Disc Golf Coach for its Club Sports program. This part-time position is responsible for recruiting and retaining players, planning and conducting practices, coaching during games, and managing other administrative responsibilities associated with the team. The role runs from September 1st to May 15th each academic year.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of coaching experience at the high school, prep, junior, or collegiate level
• Must be willing and available to work nights and weekends, as the majority of games are Friday-Sunday
• Possess experience working with diverse staff, including college-age students
• Must maintain coaching certification or have the ability to acquire certification
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Applicants must be lawfully authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Background check required.

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of club activities and overall team management.
• Focus on skill development, offering individual and group instruction tailored to improve performance.
• Aid in identifying and recruiting talented players, attending competitions, and evaluating potential recruits.
• Provide guidance and support to athletes while fostering a positive and motivating environment.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, support injury prevention and management efforts, and promote overall athlete well-being.
• Facilitate clean and effective communication between players, coaches, and support staff.
• Represent the team in community events, fostering good public relations, and building support for the program.
• Consistently demonstrate positive sportsmanship and conduct that reflects the University’s mission and values.
• Other duties as assigned.
