About The Position

The California Montessori Project (CMP) is a public charter school network in the greater Sacramento area offering a TK-8 Montessori program. CMP serves over 3,000 students across seven campuses and maintains strong relationships with four school districts. CMP supports its teachers in obtaining dual-certification (Montessori and California state credential). The CMP Leadership Team provides stability and guidance, and the organization is committed to equity and student success through MTSS and PBIS frameworks. Requirements

  • 48 college semester educational units, or the ability to pass a paraprofessional exam within 30 days of hire.
  • Energetic person who enjoys working with children and can supervise staff.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to staff, students and families.
  • Ability to work/stand and move around on your feet for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations, staff, and programming of the Club M Expanded Learning Program.
  • Ensure all site-based activities align with the California Montessori Project (CMP) mission, educational philosophy, and Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) requirements.
  • Coordinate all aspects of Club M programming in alignment with CMP’s Montessori-based philosophy and ELOP guidelines.
  • Develop and implement thematic enrichment schedules that balance academic support, creativity, and social development.
  • Collaborate with the Student Services Coordinator to ensure all Expanded Learning components meet ELOP compliance and quality standards.
  • Oversee Club M staff and students following CMP policies and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and communication to promote a positive and cohesive team environment.
  • Participate in staff interviews and assist with onboarding, as needed.
  • Secure substitute coverage when staff are unavailable and step in to maintain ratio when required.
  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that supports the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of students.
  • Plan and lead activities that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and community building.
  • Reinforce Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) principles in daily programming.
  • Maintain active CPI certification and utilize de-escalation strategies when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance, kid counts, and Procare records.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and maintain documentation as required.
  • Follow CMP attendance procedures and ensure compliance with state and program guidelines.
  • Serve as liaison between administration, staff, parents, and the wider CMP community.
  • Prepare and distribute Club M communications, including newsletters, event updates, and notices.
  • Review and communicate incident reports with families as needed.
  • Keep the Site Principal informed of significant student or parent concerns requiring administrative attention.
  • Facilitate regular Club M staff meetings and trainings at the site level.
  • Participate in network-wide Club M Manager meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Meet regularly with the Site Principal to discuss program updates, needs, and compliance.
  • Process Club M registrations, manage site waitlists, and maintain enrollment documentation.
  • Track scholarship awards, child care subsidies, and follow up on related paperwork.
  • Support families with billing questions and coordinate intersession enrollment processes.
  • Serve as the PBIS liaison for Club M, supporting consistency with school-wide expectations.
  • Conduct and document emergency and safety drills.
  • Implement CPI strategies and ensure all staff adhere to safety and supervision standards.
  • Exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in resolving program-level situations in the absence of site administration.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the success and safety of the Club M program.

  • Supervision - Oversee staff and students in the program, consistent with CMP policies and procedures. Coordinator must be able to provide direct oversight and interaction with students.
  • Scheduling- coordinate with the Principal to manage Club M program staffing schedules.
  • Staffing- maintain positive guidance for Club M staff, in alignment with CMP’s educational philosophy. Communicate with staff to promote a team atmosphere. Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed. Participate in interviews for new hires, as needed. Seeking substitutes for staff, as needed.
  • Plan education and enrichment activities - Create thematic schedules and plans for the students participating in the Expanded Learning Club M program. These schedules will include educational and enrichment activities, under the guidance of the Student Services Specialist.
  • Record Keeping Maintain attendance rosters and kid counts of Club M children daily. Conduct Club M Safety drills, as needed.
  • Ensuring implementation of Expanded Learning Opportunities Program guidelines - Coordinator will work with the Student Services Specialist to ensure that requirements of the ELOP legislation are being met to the fullest extent.
  • Family Communications- prepare Club M communications to parents. Review incident reports and communicate to parents.
  • Plan meetings - facilitate Club M site staff meetings/training, attend network Club M Coordinator meetings/training and meet regularly with Site Principal to discuss campus level Club M needs.
  • Program monitoring- Keep Principal informed of any escalated children and parent concerns.
