About The Position

This position implements quality treatment for residents of a residential group home. It provides transportation, supports consumers’ health and safety, assists with housekeeping, meal preparation, and maintenance, develops positive relationships, and performs related duties as assigned. The role also helps maintain records and reports in compliance with organizational policies and applicable licensing and funding requirements. It has no supervisory duties.

Requirements

Able to read, write, and understand English and verbal and written instructions.
Experience or desire to work with individuals who have mental illness or developmental disabilities.
Demonstrated record-keeping ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to meet physical demands that include sitting, standing, climbing, pushing, bending, squatting, lifting, and pulling.
Required to assist in moving consumers weighing up to 200 lb.
Uses a mop and household cleaners when cleaning residential homes.

Responsibilities

Implement individual treatment plans for consumers as requested or assigned.
Support consumers’ health and safety through preventive techniques and appropriate health services.
Drive the agency van to transport consumers to services and activities.
Perform assigned housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
Review house maintenance needs and inform the House Manager of needed repairs.
Assist with preparing and maintaining records and reports, including compliance with VOASELA, Inc. policies and licensing and funding agencies.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with consumers and community members who may affect consumers’ well-being or the residential group home.
Inform the House Manager of needed safety and emergency/disaster supplies required by governmental agencies, funding sources, and the program.
Evacuate with Community Living Services consumers during hurricane season.
Adhere to the designated dress code for the role.
Perform related duties as assigned.
