Requirements

At least one (1) year in relevant Trade or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety.
Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical repairs to machinery, equipment and buildings in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Duties include welding, cutting, pipefitting and light machining while applying knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and electrical maintenance.
Comprehend and execute assigned duties quickly and accurately.
Operate various stationary and mobile equipment.
Perform manual lifting of various weights, shapes and sizes.
Execute Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Read machine prints or schematics.
Measure and work to detail.
Operate transportation equipment, including forklifts and cranes.
Safely operate a forklift following required training.
Assist in training new employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
