About The Position

This role requires a deep understanding of cloud service performance boundaries within platforms like AWS or Azure. The Cloud Technical Expert will be responsible for recommending architectural solutions to address these boundaries, implementing cloud security best practices, and integrating agency-specific security requirements into cloud designs. Additionally, the role involves a strong focus on Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps), including optimizing IT costs and developing guidance for cost control guardrails. A key responsibility is redesigning legacy applications using a cloud-native approach.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of cloud service performance boundaries of AWS, Azure, or similar cloud technologies.
• Knowledgeable of Cloud security implementation best practices.
• Thorough understanding of Cloud financial operations (FinOps) in application design.
• Thorough understanding of Cloud cost guardrail mechanisms.
• Ability to redesign legacy applications using a cloud native approach.
• At a minimum, a Masters’ degree in a related discipline.
• At least seven (7) years of IT experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience in the Cloud environment.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Recommend architectural approaches to mitigate potential cloud service performance boundaries.
• Incorporate agency-specific security requirements into Cloud design approaches.
• Recommend optimized approaches to manage IT costs through Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps).
• Develop and document guidance for implementation of cost control guardrails.
• Redesign legacy applications using a cloud-native approach.
