About The Position

The team is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer with experience supporting Linux systems in virtualized environments, including AWS. The ideal candidate is a self starter who is highly organized, works well independently, and collaborates effectively with customers and technical team members. This individual will serve as the primary administrator for all Linux development and production systems. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, updating, and maintaining Linux operating systems and applications; applying software updates and IAVA security patches; monitoring system health and performance; and troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues to ensure maximum availability and minimize downtime. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain system and process documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational procedures. Experience deploying, managing, and maintaining systems within AWS is highly desirable. Candidates should have experience managing Linux environments in cloud and virtualized infrastructures and a strong understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, IP addressing, routing, and public and private network configurations. Familiarity with customer STE/STN requirements is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience creating, installing, and managing server certificates and be capable of installing, configuring, and maintaining software on Linux based systems. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently identify and resolve technical issues are essential. While this position does not require participation in a formal on call rotation, the selected candidate will be expected to provide after hours call in support as needed to respond to critical system issues and help maintain operational continuity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification or higher
  • Active TS/SCI with current polygraph required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Linux systems in virtualized environments, including AWS

  • Experience managing Linux environments in cloud and virtualized infrastructures

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • Cloud System Administrator Certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification
