About The Position

ASSYST is seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Systems Administrator to play a key role in overseeing, managing, troubleshooting, and executing cloud services and platforms to support our client's infrastructure, applications, data, and broader business needs, in Tallahassee, Florida (Onsite role). As a Cloud Systems Administrator, the duties will span broad administrative tasks—such as managing user access, archiving files, overseeing security measures, and monitoring shared resources as well as high-level strategic initiatives. This role requires hands-on management of Microsoft 365, identity platforms, and a robust multi-cloud environment. This is an onsite role and requires the candidate to report onsite at Tallahassee, Florida, 5 days a week. Interview Mode: In-Person.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.
  • 2 – 3 years experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • 2 – 3 years IIS Administration.
  • 2 – 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions.
  • 2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.
  • 3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired.
  • 2 – 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired.
  • 3 – 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support and expand internal infrastructure while making recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
  • Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple internal and external parties, including contractors and specialized data centers.
  • Monitor systems, applications, and internet components to ensure maximum security, availability, and performance.
  • Establish and maintain network systems by evaluating performance issues—including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency—while defining network policies, managing firewalls, and executing the installation and testing of equipment.
  • Maintain network and systems performance through regular monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, escalating complex problems to vendors as needed.
  • Build and manage professional relationships in a multi-front, matrixed environment to direct technology initiatives across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to refactor existing solutions to obtain better performance, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, organizational settings, git repositories, and deployment pipelines.
  • Recommend, assist with, and deploy complex application hosting solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud services.
  • Provide technical support and collaboration for other internal IT staff, including development teams.
  • Perform routine administrative security tasks, including adding and removing authorized users, archiving files, protecting passwords, and executing security hardening.
  • Complete other technical and operational duties as assigned.
