About The Position

ASSYST is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to play a key role in supporting, troubleshooting, and executing cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure initiatives in Tallahassee, Florida. This role works across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern infrastructure, and developer pipelines to ensure high availability, security, and peak system performance. Candidates must reside in or relocate to Tallahassee or the surrounding area. This position requires reporting to the office 5 days a week. The mode of interview is in-person/Face to Face in Tallahassee, FL only.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field Or equivalent work experience.
5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.
2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.
3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
2 – 3 years of experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
2 – 3 years of IIS Administration.
2 – 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.

Nice To Haves

2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.
2 – 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired.
2 – 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software, Linux OS is highly desired.
3 – 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Support and expand the infrastructure.
Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC and contractors).
Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; and establishing connections and firewalls.
Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
Support other IT staff, including developers.
Other duties as assigned.
