About The Position

The Cloud System Engineer III is a senior, hands-on cloud engineer responsible for designing, building, securing, and optimizing CI/CD capabilities in an AWS environment. The role combines AWS engineering with Git, GitLab CI/CD, automation, and DevSecOps expertise. The engineer will create reusable delivery pipelines, manage GitLab runners and repository workflows, automate cloud deployments, integrate security controls into software delivery, and help engineering teams adopt consistent cloud-native development practices. The successful candidate will work directly with AWS infrastructure and deployment challenges, design secure delivery patterns, and use Git and GitLab as core enterprise software-engineering tools. The goal is to provide secure, scalable, and reliable delivery platforms that help engineering teams build, test, and deploy applications to AWS consistently while maintaining security, governance, and operational standards. The role provides senior technical leadership for AWS-based DevSecOps and GitLab CI/CD engineering, supporting secure application development and automated cloud deployment. It includes collaboration with developers, cloud engineers, security teams, architects, and other stakeholders, as well as technical guidance and mentorship for engineering teams. The position is remote. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
