About The Position

Erias Ventures is seeking a Cloud System Architect to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Cloud Infrastructure Services hosted in multiple cloud environments. This role involves providing Tier I/II and Tier 3 (escalation to Architecture Team) resolution for customer capacity requests, and supporting the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers. The architect will also provide connectivity and utilization support to Cloud Infrastructure Services managed cloud environment customers, and handle customer support through chat, email, and capacity request ticketing. Responsibilities include following established guidelines for delivering cloud-based resources, supporting the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of customer resources, and assisting users in accessing and utilizing cloud-based compute resources. The role serves as the technical point of contact between the customer and the Architecture and Capacity Engineering teams, maintaining currency of relevant documents, updating knowledge bases (Wiki and SharePoint), and monitoring/responding to chat rooms. Additionally, the architect is responsible for full documentation of the cloud infrastructure for smooth handoff to application teams and for the deployment of new solutions into existing cloud resources or off-premise infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Nine (9) years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related technical field. An additional four four (4) years of relevant experience can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Must work with little to no prescriptive guidance.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud solutions including but not limited to AWS, OpenStack and Microsoft Azure products.
  • Demonstrated experience using tools like OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
  • Must possess one active mid-level or advanced cloud certification (i.e. AWS, Azure, OpenStack).
  • Development experience with both Linux and Windows workloads using cloud technologies with automation including Amazon Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience writing software scripts using languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby.
  • Should be able to develop with a DevOps approach for both Linux and Windows workloads using proven, cutting-edge cloud technologies including automation with Amazon Cloudformation, OpsWorks, Ansible, Chef, and Docker.
  • Must be able to deploy new cloud production, staging, and test environment.
  • Must take planning seriously and strive for a seamless transition with little to no downtime.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services and solutions like AWS, OpenStack and Microsoft Azure products.
  • A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify the most agile, scalable infrastructure, and select the best cloud services and technologies for customer projects and plan all implementation procedures.
  • Automate and deploy cloud infrastructures.
  • Plan and implement Infrastructure as a Service (iaaS) and Platform as a Service (Paas) using tools like OpenStack, Eucalyptus, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
