About The Position

This role focuses on administering and sustaining secure, multi-subscription environments strictly within Azure Government. The position involves deploying and managing virtual machines, storage, networking components, and identity services. A key aspect is ensuring security and compliance through vulnerability management, STIG checklist execution, and rapid response to Cyber Tasking Orders. The role also requires advanced troubleshooting skills, including packet capture analysis, and performing above-baseline software updates. Automation through scripting (Azure CLI, PowerShell) is essential, as is expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) using Microsoft Entra ID and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). The position requires integration with an enterprise ticketing system and strong communication skills.

Requirements

Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
Security+ (or equivalent IAT Level II certification) AND a relevant cloud environment certification (e.g., AZ-104 Azure Administrator, SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator, or equivalent) OR 5 years relevant experience.
Experience with Azure Government administration, cArmy, and ECMA frameworks.
Proficiency in deploying and managing virtual machines, storage, networking components, and identity services.
Strong understanding of Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) mechanics and secure connection protocols.
Experience with modern hosting architectures like Containers and Azure App Services.
Experience with Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance monitoring and reporting.
Experience executing and maintaining STIG checklists.
Ability to analyze and execute technical actions in response to Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs).
Proficiency in advanced system troubleshooting, including packet capture (PCAP) tools like Wireshark.
Experience performing above-baseline software updates and configurations.
Proficiency in Azure CLI and PowerShell for automation and querying resources.
Expertise in Microsoft Entra ID for identity, access, and directory services.
Deep understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), security groups, and nested permission structures.
Experience managing issues through an enterprise ticketing system/service desk.
Professional technical communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with OneDeploy using .zip or .jar packages.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is not utilized for standard deployments, implying a focus on manual or scripted deployments.

Responsibilities

Administer and sustain secure, multi-subscription environments strictly within Azure Government, including dedicated experience navigating cArmy and the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) frameworks.
Deploy and manage virtual machines, storage, networking components, and identity services.
Understand Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) mechanics and secure protocols for administrative actions using elevated/privileged accounts.
Deploy and maintain application workloads (including Linux-based workloads) utilizing modern hosting architectures such as Containers and Azure App Services (utilizing OneDeploy with .zip or .jar packages).
Actively monitor, document, and accurately report Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance.
Execute and maintain STIG checklists to ensure all infrastructure meets rigorous hardening standards.
Rapidly analyze, coordinate, and execute technical actions in response to Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs).
Diagnose and resolve complex system outages.
Analyze network, firewall, and proxy traffic using packet capture (PCAP) tools (e.g., Wireshark) to isolate connectivity issues.
Perform and validate above-baseline software updates and configurations.
Utilize Azure CLI and PowerShell to query resources, automate repetitive administrative tasks, and streamline cloud operations.
Maintain and troubleshoot identity, access, and directory services utilizing Microsoft Entra ID.
Demonstrate a deep conceptual understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), security groups, and nested permission structures.
Navigate and troubleshoot complex environments where roles are dynamically mapped to security groups through custom, obfuscated web application authorization systems.
Manage, document, and resolve technical issues systematically through an enterprise ticketing system/service desk.
Deliver clear, concise, and professional technical communications within the team and directly to end-users/customers.
