About The Position

Reporting to the Director, IT Operations, the Cloud Specialist is responsible for optimizing, governing, and evolving cloud environments across multiple sites (Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Vancouver). In an environment that has already migrated to the cloud, the Cloud Specialist ensures that value, performance, and service quality are maximized, while contributing to the organization’s technology vision. This person plays a key role in automating operations and platforms by implementing DevSecOps practices and robust controls. They actively contribute to defining and improving the cybersecurity posture of cloud environments, particularly through the implementation of security models such as Zero Trust, identity and access management (IAM), and the deployment of incident detection and response mechanisms. This person ensures the protection of assets, compliance with applicable standards, risk management, and the resilience of platforms against threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or any other combination of equivalent and relevant experience
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in optimizing the user experience, including improving service speed and reducing errors and response times
  • Advanced expertise in Azure and AWS, automation (PowerShell), and cloud production environments
  • Knowledge of networks and telecommunications
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, at the CBC level

Responsibilities

  • Optimize Azure and AWS environments (performance, resilience, costs)
  • Design and implement automation solutions (Infrastructure as Code, scripting)
  • Standardize deployments and operations
  • Ensure the continuous evolution of cloud services
  • Establish robust practices (architecture, security, governance, automation)
  • Optimize resource utilization (FinOps, rightsizing)
  • Ensure the stability and performance of cloud platforms
  • Automate recurring tasks (deployment, configuration, monitoring)
  • Reduce manual interventions through automation
  • Address complex issues
  • Continuously improve service quality
  • Ensure the performance and reliability of cloud interconnections
  • Contribute to the automation of network configurations
  • Manage and optimize network components (VPN, DNS, hybrid connectivity)
  • Ensure stable and high-performance connectivity
  • Coordinate activities related to cloud environments
  • Serve as a technical resource and point of escalation
  • Support teams in adopting automation
  • Promote best practices and standards
  • Help prioritize initiatives
  • Define a cloud vision focused on automation and performance
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Influence technology direction
  • Monitor technology trends (Azure, AWS, automation)
