About The Position

The Cloud Solutions Engineer is a key technical role with a client-facing, consultative core. You'll combine hands-on cloud and DevOps expertise with strategic advisory skills to help clients solve applied business problems through technology — architecting and delivering production-grade solutions on AWS while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement. You'll bring analytical and technical rigor, creativity, and customer-service excellence to every engagement, taking ownership of both your individual contributions and the responsibility for outcomes of the broader team, while helping build a culture that encourages learning, improvement, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience deploying and managing production applications in AWS for clients or customers.
  • DevOps experience, including: deploying containerized applications (e.g., Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), and application health monitoring and logging (e.g., Splunk, CloudWatch).
  • Experience building and managing secure, high-availability, modern web application architectures and their associated cloud services.
  • A client-facing orientation, with the ability to work directly with both senior as well as technical stakeholders; experience managing internal and external relationships is preferred.
  • Minimum of a 4-year college degree.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • AI Engineering building applications on foundation models (e.g., RAG, agent orchestration, agent evaluations)
  • Machine Learning (training, deploying, and operationalizing models across the MLOps lifecycle)
  • Data Engineering (building data pipelines and working within lakehouse/warehouse architectures and data platforms, e.g., Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and optimize secure, modern web application architectures and their associated cloud services.
  • Deploy and manage production applications in AWS for clients and customers, applying DevOps best practices.
  • Design and deliver technical solutions that map directly to client priorities and business impact, ensuring builds are robust, scalable, high quality, and reflective of industry best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients — using deep technical and business expertise to guide decisions on implementation, governance, and change management, and to offer a clear point of view on program and product performance and direction, even with imperfect information.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their unique challenges and opportunities, tailoring solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead and oversee complex, high-stakes, multi-threaded technology implementations and advisory engagements.
  • Navigate complex organizational structures and build strong relationships across stakeholder groups — from technical teams to functional directors and decision-makers — facilitating alignment and driving consensus as an advocate for both the client and commonFont.
  • Serve as a go-to technical leader internally, helping to grow our team's cloud and DevOps capability.
  • Contribute to high-performing engagement teams, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented culture through coaching, feedback, and clear expectations.
