About The Position

The Customer Experience & Success (CE&S) organization, with over 17,000 employees worldwide, aims to empower customers to accelerate business value through differentiated customer experiences leveraging Microsoft’s products and services. This role is for a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) specializing in Data Security, focused on driving customers’ security and AI transformation on the Microsoft Platform. The CSA will act as a trusted advisor, helping customers secure their entire data estates against internal and external data risks using Microsoft Purview’s integrated Data Security services. This includes protecting sensitive data through classification, labelling, and encryption, managing insider risks with machine learning detection and adaptive protection, and preventing data loss with built-in exfiltration policies for Microsoft 365 apps, services, and endpoints. This is a customer-facing role, responsible for the technical relationship between the customer and Microsoft, guiding customers to maximize their Microsoft investments through architecture, implementation, and operational health engagements. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • Breadth of technical experience and knowledge, with depth / Subject Matter Expertise in: Sentinel, all Defender Workloads and Data Security strategies and solutions
  • Zero Trust strategies including, Zero trust Foundations, Defend Against Threats, Protect and Govern Sensitive Data
  • Deep knowledge of solution architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of Cloud and Data Security in order to identify business needs and determine solutions to business problems, process improvement, organizational change, or strategic planning and policy development.
  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior IT executives in large or highly strategic accounts.
  • Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, Messaging/collaboration/Network/Security administrators, and solution architecture teams).
  • Understanding of how Microsoft Security, compliance, and identity solutions can span across solution areas to provide a holistic and end-to-end solution.
  • Ability to understand customer’s Security related business requirements and customer problems and solve them through Microsoft cloud technologies.
  • Competitive Landscape knowledge of Security platforms.
  • Technical aptitude and experience to learn new cloud technologies and understand relevant cloud market trends.

  • Active Canadian Government Secret Clearance or the ability to secure Secret Clearance with the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) of Public Services and Procurement Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Drive positive Customer Satisfaction and become a trusted advisor and provide feedback and insights from customers/partners and be the Voice of Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with Global Security teams at Microsoft, Engineering and Product teams to remove blockers and influence the solution roadmap.
  • Land an end-to-end value prop for Security (i.e., Zero Trust) which spans the breadth of Microsoft Security offerings, and with a focus on Threat Protection and Cloud Security.
  • Support customers through the adoption lifecycle, through planning, adoption, deployment and optimization as you support increasing drive of Microsoft security products utilization as you lead technical solutioning and nurturing across the customer journey.
  • Deliver technical presentations & demos and propose high-level solutions and work with key Microsoft and Partner resources to drive deployment & customer adoption Identify cross sell/upsell/Unified opportunities through customer engagement.
  • Align your individual skilling to team/area demands and Customer Success goals and accelerate customer outcomes - Share expertise, contribute to IP creation & re-use to accelerate customer outcomes.
  • Run Architectural Design Session to build a plan for implementing the solution – governing design in line with customer business goals and their technical environment. Outcome is consensus on solution design and next steps toward production.
  • Collaborate and orchestrate with other Cloud Solution Architects and MS stakeholders including FastTrack, partner, and Microsoft Consulting in developing complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions with the Microsoft Security platform.
