About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer with an active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph. This role involves providing cloud software research, development, and engineering support throughout the entire software lifecycle. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, software design and development, installation, integration, testing, validation, evaluation, enhancement, and sustainment. The engineer will diagnose and resolve technical issues, implement system improvements, and ensure cloud-based software solutions meet operational, performance, security, and mission requirements. This position is part of Peraton's critical National Security programs.

Requirements

  • At least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • At least six (6) years of experience developing software using high-level programming languages such as Java, C, and C++.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in software integration and software unit testing, including developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
  • At least five (5) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Red Hat versions 3–5) operating systems.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (considered equivalent to two years of experience).
  • A Master’s degree in a technical field (considered equivalent to four years of experience).
  • Degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar disciplines will be considered technical fields.
  • Strong proficiency with AWS SDKs and APIs.
  • Expertise in designing scalable and efficient AWS cloud architectures.
  • Experience performing AWS Well-Architected Framework Reviews.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud, serverless architectures, and cloud application deployment.
  • Deep understanding of AWS services and how to leverage them to drive innovation.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Skilled in CI/CD testing.
  • Familiarity with or experience using AWS Pricing Calculator and Cost Explorer.
  • Familiarity with or experience using CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
  • Experience using GitLab for version control.
  • One of the following certifications: AWS Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Developer – Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional.
