About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer Level 1 to support the development and deployment of enterprise cloud-based solutions within a mission-driven environment. The selected candidate will contribute to the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of scalable cloud-native applications supporting large-scale compute and data analytics platforms. This position works within an Agile development team to implement secure and reliable software capabilities across cloud infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated developer with strong attention to detail who can work independently and collaboratively to meet evolving customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and zero (0) years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical field; OR A minimum of two (2) years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical field in lieu of a degree.
  • Qualifying experience may include requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and/or problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Experience with one or more high-level programming languages such as Java, Python, C, or C++.
  • Experience working within Linux-based operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an Agile software-development environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Demonstrated experience with Open Source/NoSQL products supporting highly distributed and massively parallel computing, including HBase, Accumulo, and/or Bigtable.

  • Experience with the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS).

  • Experience with compute-cluster monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Accumulo internals, including configuring, tuning, and testing Accumulo across large-scale environments exceeding 200 nodes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering support.
  • Support requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis/resolution.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications supporting large-scale compute and data analytics platforms.
  • Develop secure and reliable software capabilities across cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Support software integration and testing activities, including the development and implementation of test plans and test scripts.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software and cloud-environment issues.
  • Support highly distributed and massively parallel computing environments.
  • Work with Open Source/NoSQL technologies supporting distributed computation, including technologies such as HBase, Accumulo, and Bigtable.
  • Collaborate with developers, Systems Engineers, customers, and other technical stakeholders to meet evolving mission and system requirements.
  • Participate in Agile software-development activities and support continuous integration and deployment practices.
