Under the general supervision of the Application Support Manager in the Public Health Applications Division of HHS IT, serves as a Senior Software Technical Analyst and Java developer, performing highly advanced work supporting applications under the Public Health Informatics and Data Exchange section of the Public Health Data Informatics (PHID) section of DSHS. Work includes but is not limited to complex analysis of computer workflows, troubleshooting issues, project support, software maintenance, support of application testing, and user support tickets. May architect, design, develop, and manage/operate new or existing software applications. Will serve as a senior level analyst in support of a mission critical ecosystem containing multiple applications. May participate in disaster recovery exercises. Work involves coordinating with business customers, external vendors, and other HHSC IT areas (System Services, CTO, PMO etc). May plan and assign the work of other technical staff. Train and mentor others, as needed. Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Work outside of regular hours may be required. Travel to other work locations may be required. Serve on interview boards to make selection recommendations of technical personnel.
